It was a tense battle for the Students against the Brumbies Runners on Saturday, who went down to the victors, 53-24, at Viking Park in Canberra.

The score board was tied early on in the match as the Students hit back with a well earned try and conversion in the 7th minute of the game, to bring the scores to 7 each, followed by some impressive pace from Matt Narracott who scored a try in the 32nd minute to tie the game up at 19.

But despite hopes for a big second half, the Brumby Runners proved too good for the Students on Saturday. While not the result we were wanting, a lot of lessons were learnt as the students continue to gear up for the 2017 Shute Shield season.
