Over the past 5 months, SUFC have had a number of Colts players involved in a NSW Under 20s training squad. These boys have been training very hard, and have competed in varous games throughout the pre-season, cumulating in the National Under 20s Competition, to be held in Canberra this weekend.

This group of players is made up of the state’s brightest young talent and best emerging talent, and the NSW Under 20s program is designed to give young players a valuable opportunity to develop their skills and process along the pathway towards selection for Gen Blue (NSW Waratahs A team) and the NSW Waratahs.

The squad is coached by Tim Rapp and assisted by Damien Cummins, who both see the Under 20s group as being a crucial part of the future of Australian Rugby, as it provides a means through which local talent can reach Super Rugby and the Wallabies.

After the long training program, the squad for the Under 20s National Championships was announced earlier this week, with a number of SUFC boys selected to represent NSW, including:

Henry Clunies-Ross
Folau Fainga’a
Jack McCalman
Angus Pulver
Tomas Robertson
Matthew Sandell
Cameron Skelton
Jonathan Vaux
Mitchell Whiteley

We congratulate these boys, and all within the training squad, and wish them the best of luck over the weekend.
