Trevor Woodman farewells SUFC
SUFC and Australian rugby will be without the expert services of forwards coach Trevor Woodman, who will be returning England to taking up a coaching position with the Wasps club. The England World Cup prop has been with Sydney University for two-and-a-half season, during which time the forward culture has been raised to new levels.
He was responsible for the development of tighthead prop Laurie Weeks, the 2009 Super 14 Rookie of the Year, and loosehead Jerry Yanayanatawa, who was plucked from obscurity to help with the 2007 Shute Shield.
Woodman’s expertise at Sydney University was recognised at higher levels, and he has been the Australian scrum coach for the past 12 months.
Former Wallabies and Argentine Test prop Patricio Noriega has been appointed national scrum coach to replace Woodman.
