SUFC announces new partnership with Redkite

Sydney University Football Club has announced its exciting new partnership with Redkite to help support children and young people going through cancer and their families.

Sydney University Football Club (SUFC) is Australia’s oldest rugby club and the sixth oldest in the world. In 2009, the club enjoyed great success, winning the Premierships in first grade, Colts 1 and 2, the NSW Rugby Union Club Championships, and the Colts Club Championships. The team is looking forward to a prosperous season in 2010.

Ray Dearlove, General Manager of the Sydney University Football Club said: "We are delighted to be partnering with Redkite in 2010; we see a number of synergies between our two organisations and we hope that, as a result of this partnership, we can make a difference to children and young people and their families."

Redkite provides real and practical support for families going through childhood cancer.

“Redkite receives no government funding and relies entirely on the generous support of the community and organisations like SUFC to continue providing essential emotional, financial and educational support to families across Australia,” explains Redkite’s Kelly McLean.

“We are looking forward to a successful partnership with Sydney University Football Club to help raise awareness and vital funds for families - at a time when they need it most.”

The first event to raise awareness for Redkite will be SUFC’s annual Golf Day on the 2 March which will be attended by both SUFC players and supporters.
