Students win in testing conditions

Sydney University is back on the winners list and in doing so, has edged closer to the top six with a 24-0 victory over Gordon at University Oval No.1.

The defending premiers were a dominant force in the first half, scoring two unanswered tries on their way to a 17-0 lead before adding the only try of the second half to seal the win.

The victory moves the Students to eighth place on the ladder, five points behind Northern Suburbs, while Gordon still sit in eleventh position.

The points did not come as easily for the lower grades, with University losing all three games against Gordon.
