Finals Lunch Guest Speaker honoured in Queen's Birthday Awards
One of the guest speakers at the 2010 Sydney University Football Club's Finals Lunch, Harold Mitchell, has received Australia’s highest civic honour, named as a Companion of the Order of Australia (AC) in the Queen's Birthday 2010 Honours list.
Mr Mitchell, Executive Chairman of Mitchell Communication Group and Chairman of Australia's newest Super Rugby side - the Melbourne Rebels - was recognised for his community service, leadership, philanthropic contribution to art, health and education, and his support of humanitarian aid in Timor-Leste and Indigenous communities.
Mr. Mitchell will be joined on the panel by Sir Ralph Norris, KNZM, Chief Executive Officer of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia and also Hottie van der Straaten, Banking Executive and former Springbok. The panel will be chaired by Adam Spencer, radio presenter, comedian, and media personality. Adam is a patron of various science-related events and programs, including the University of Sydney's Eureka Prize, a "lateral-thinking" science prize. He is a champion debater and also coach of the University of Sydney sixth grade women's soccer team.
The Lunch is shaping up to be a sell-out with sixty tables already sold. Since the capacity of the Westin Hotel Ballroom is only 92 tables, we would encourage you to confirm your booking as soon as possible.
