Ex-Ireland U20s prop Betts playing in Australia but will return to Leicester

FORMER IRELAND U20 tighthead prop Ben Betts will spend the summer on loan with Sydney University in Australia, but will return to Leicester Tigers next season.

The 20-year-old front row from Ballyhahill in Co. Limerick impressed for Ireland at last year’s Junior World Championship, helping Nigel Carolan’s side into the final as they beat New Zealand for the first time ever along the way.

Australia U20’s Head Coach Simon Cron has named his side to play Samoa U20’s at Bond University on the Gold Coast this Friday night.
