FORMER IRELAND U20 tighthead prop Ben Betts will spend the summer on loan with Sydney University in Australia, but will return to Leicester Tigers next season.
The 20-year-old front row from Ballyhahill in Co. Limerick impressed for Ireland at last year’s Junior World Championship, helping Nigel Carolan’s side into the final as they beat New Zealand for the first time ever along the way.
You're invited to join us for the 21st ‘Blue & Gold‘ Rugby Luncheon at the Ivy Ballroom (320 George St – opposite Wynyard Station) on Friday 16th June.
The Luncheon has a proud history of tradition - and this year is no exception with our two principal entertainment segments:
Australia U20’s Head Coach Simon Cron has named his side to play Samoa U20’s at Bond University on the Gold Coast this Friday night.
Included in the mix are six NSW Gen Blue players; four of those have made the starting line-up including prop Harry Chapman and lock Ryan McCauley, who are returning for their second year of national duties.
The trip to Bowral was terrific but unfortunately we left our focus at home.
We struggled from the first whistle with no intent in defence or attack and we let in two simple tries in the first half.
Over 50 SUFC players, coaches and support staff attended the University of Sydney Regiment’s 2017 ANZAC Day Dawn Service yesterday to remember and reflect on the lives of the brave soldiers who served and died in the war. We remember their triumphs, their struggles and the influence of their journey on us and generations to come. Lest we forget.
It is with regret we announce the passing of former SUFC President, Ruskin Davis.
Ruskin was 91 years old and still watched as many Sydney Uni games as he could, having been president from 1980 to 1982.
Sydney’s Shute Shield rugby competition descended upon the historic hamlet of Bowral 118 kilometres south of Sydney. A town as the birthplace of cricket’s Sir Donald Bradman and a sanctuary for Sydneysiders to actually drive their SUV’s in a rural setting!
