Congratulations to Lori Cramer who has been called up to the Aussie 7s squad in the lead up to the Olympics.
Our men may have the bye this weekend but our Lionesses are out in force as we welcome Gordon Gazelles and Easts Women to campus!
Did you know:
When records look like they may be broken, I go to the books, and with Declan Moore scoring his 12th try against Warringah and passing the Top Try scorer for 2008 (11 tries) by Jerry Yanuyanutawa (also a forward), I thought who has scored the most tries in a Shute shield season by a forward. So, I found out, Bob Louden 1928 and Harry Bergelin 2014 who scored 20 each and who both hail from the Manly Marlins. Our very own, Tim Davidson went close with 19 in 2005. With 11 games and 3 weeks of finals left to play Declan has a real chance of stealing that record for himself and SUFC.
It is always good to see our Old Boys come back to the ground on match days. But this season we have nine Old Boys in our coaching ranks. Most of them are ex Representative players 2 forwards and 5 backs. They are Laurie Weeks, Mitch Inman, Peter Playford, Tom Coolican, Michael Hodge, Toby L’Estrange, Greg and Jeloudev. Welcome home men.
The Sydney University finely tuned fifteen continued its winning ways with a dominant 43-12 victory over old rivals Eastern Suburbs last Saturday at Woollahra Oval.
We're back at home this weekend as we welcome the Warringah Rats & Ratettes to the SUFG.
