We are pleased to announce our 2020 Club Captains, Tom Osborne and Sera Naiqama. They make the perfect duo to lift our spirits and provide ample of energy and entertainment during these testing times. Here’s a bit more about the pair:

TOM OSBORNE
Nickname: Dusky
Joined SUFC: 2017
Position: Prop
Rep Rugby: Aus Schools Barbarians, Aus 20s Extended Squad
Rugby Idol: Eddie Jones
Game Day Playlist: I don’t really listen to music beforehand. The boys will usually have some hilarious stuff to say that I don’t want to miss.
Ideal pre game meal: Toasted Sandwich from Ralph’s Cafe
Who is your funniest teammate: Chucky Hancock
What’s your party trick? I speak very broken Chinese that is fading by the day
Best memory at SUFC: Beating Souths at Home in 2018. Our Colts were having a tough trot and we had lost to Souths earlier in the year. It was great to get back on top and this game reignited our finals hopes. Also, winning the 2nd Grade Premiership last year was gun.
Iso Pep Talk for the team: The best thing about this club is the group of people that make it. We’re so lucky to be a part of it. Keep looking out for each other. Up the students!

SERA NAIQAMA
Nickname: Carry on Queen
Joined SUFC: 2013
Position: Lock
Rep Rugby: NSW 7s Schoolgirls, Sydney City NRC, NSW Waratahs, Wallaroos A
Rugby Idol: I didn’t grow up with rugby but my heroes since I’ve started playing include Haruka Takahashi and Ashleigh Hewson. They lead by example through their actions on and off the field. To me that stuff is rare and really special!
Game Day Playlist: Homecoming by Beyoncé
Game Day Superstitions: Don’t change my boots, wear the same boots I train in
Who is your funniest teammate: Can I vote for myself?
Best memory at SUFC: 2019 Grand Final v Randwick. We played in wet, tough conditions but the Lionesses kept chipping away, which eventually led to us securing the title for the second year in a row. The post-match celebrations weren’t to bad either!
Iso Pep Talk for the team: Stay home, stay hopeful and try and maintain your fitness as best you can. IF you’re struggling with the self-iso stuff, reach out. We got you!
