Rugby fans are invited to submit innovative experimental laws that they think should be trialled in Australian Rugby’s new domestic competition, the National Rugby Championship.

Phase one of the ARU’s social media campaign on experimental laws kicks off today. Suggestions are being accepted on Facebook.com/Wallabies and will close at 11.59pm (AEST) on Sunday 25 May 2014.

Fans can submit their suggestions by clicking on the ‘NRC’ tab at the top of the Facebook page or by clicking on the following link: http://ausrug.by/1oFXJYC.

The social media campaign will be split into three phases and will run for three to four weeks:

Phase 1: crowd-sourcing suggestions from fans
Phase 2: shortlisting of suggestions by a panel of Australia’s leading Rugby minds (Bob Dwyer, Wayne Erickson, Rod Kafer and Ewen McKenzie)
Phase 3: public vote on the panel’s shortlist

Any proposed experimental laws must receive clearance from the International Rugby Board before they can be implemented in the NRC.
