SUFC is continuing to build our junior development program by expanding our academy program designed to develop the next generation of female rugby stars. This will result in three Cubs programs:
Gold Cubs – training based in the Sydney Inner West
Blue Cubs – training based in NSW Central West
Red Cubs – training based at Barker College
The Cub’s Academy runs over winter and involves two trainings per week and Sunday Games with times and dates TBC. The program is designed to both complement player’s current participation as well as acting as a feeder for the University of Sydney AON 7s program. The program will select up to 24 girls to participate in this specialised Rugby 7s and XV’s training and compete under the Blue, Gold and Red Jersey of the Academy.
The academy is open to all female athletes aged 16-19 in NSW. All those interested are asked to attend a trial day at Sydney University on Sunday 5th July, you must pre-register by completing the attached nomination and medical form by 5pm on Wednesday 1st July, 2020. The trial details are outlined below.

Trial Day (Blue Cubs)

Bathurst Bulldogs Rugby Club, Hereford St
11am-2pm
Available for girls aged 14-19 years old (14-16yr olds will be competing in the Frosty 7s)

IMPORTANT NOTE:Due the current COVID-19 pandemic and constantly changing environment, both the academy trial dates and start dates will continued to be reviewed to ensure the safety and well-being of those involved. Any athlete wishing to trial MUST PRE-REGISTER by completing the attached nomination form.
The academy squad will be announced via email by Wednesday 8th July 2020 and all trial participants will be provided with feedback. The academy is free to trial for however if selected into the squad, playes will be required to join the SUFC at an approximate cost of $350 which includes both insurance and playing/training kit. For those selected, the first training day will commence the following week, further details will be provided to those selected into the academy.
