That our first game against Randwick was 1.6.1889, where our 3rd Grade beat their 2nd Grade team 26-3. Our first trip to the seaside suburb of Coogee was 18.7.1925 (96 winters ago) which we also won 32-17 (1st grade).
We played our 232nd game against the ‘Wicks’ last weekend, and it was our 101st win. So now we stand with 51 wins away and 50 wins at home. Our average score over all those years is 18-18.
Our 1st XV have scored 63 tries in 8 games an average of 7.88% tries per game and have an average points against us of just 10.88 points a game. They have scored over 40 points or more four times and over 50 points or more 4 times.
Saturday’s 57-17 score line was the third highest points ever scored by a Uni 1st grade side against Randwick. The other two were 65 on 20.8.2011 and the best is 78 on 7.8.2013. These 3 games were all at Coogee Oval.
Last weekend we won 6 out of 7 grades against the Wicks, the last time we did this was Round 14 at Coogee Oval where our 1st Grade lost 26-36 back in 2016.
Our 1st Grade hooker Declan (more please, sir) Moore yet again scored a triple for the second time this season. He now has 15 tries in 8 matches. And the NRL were talking the other night of a player who has scored 11 tries in 14 games, pleeeeease. Declan scored 12 tries in 2019, his most in a season, he has broken that already with just 9 rounds gone. He moves to 63 career tries including Colts. A rumour has it they are calling him ‘Rolling Moore’.
Ben Hughes reached his 500 Career points with a try and 5 goals in 1sts big win and now sits on 508 and 61 1st Grade points this year.
Tom Osborne played his 50th club game in 1st Grade and next game verses Gordon on the 19th June at home, George Lehmann shall run on for his 50th.
Will Goddard passed his 50 points for the season with 1 try, 4 goals and 1 penalty goal in 2nd Grade’s 36-22 victory.
In Colts our 1st XV team is still undefeated and have scored 82 tries in 8 matches.
Will Chen reached his 50th point in 3rd Colts with a try.
2nd Colts have kept the opposition to 7 points in 3 games so far. While our 2nd Grade seniors have had 22 points scored against them 3 times.
