Fizza's Facts and Stats - Round 11

Did you know:

That last Saturday at St.Paul’s Oval a special milestone was reached. Our 2nd Colts coach, James Caterson or Cato to most people, coached his 100th win at SUFC.

He started as a players back in 2010 in Colts and started his coaching career in 2013. He is in his 6th season with the Colts teams and the pasted five seasons he has had 3 premierships and been runner up twice. He has coached Uni sides in 115 matches for 100 wins, 14 losses and 1 draw, with a success rate of 87.83% to his name. In 2014 his 3rd Colts side were undefeated and in 2015 his 2nd Colts team lost just the once. This year’s team won on Saturday 69-7 vs the Rats and at the moment have had just the one loss. Congratulations Cato.

Looking through my records at home, I looked up when was the last ‘bad day’ out against Warringah and it was back in 2001, when we had 9 teams, 5 Grade sides and 4 Colts teams. That round we lost 1sts, 2nds, 4ths,1st Colts and 3rd Colts. We won 3rd Grade, 5th Grade and 2nd Colts, and drew 4th Colts. So three and half out of the 9 matches that year.

We have two new Waratahs as Lachlan Swinton and Will McDonnell both got a run in Tokyo last weekend verses NEC Green Rockets. They become our 239th and 240th state players.

Next week we have some very big milestones happening with Aldy King playing his 150th Club game and is only the 29th player in the Club’s history to reach this number.

Israel Folau is now our second highest test match player with 64 tests. Phil Waugh holds the most tests at Uni on 79, while just behind Israel is Nick Farr-Jones, the  late Dan Vickerman and Nick Phipps all on 63 and then Dean Mumm and Bernard Foley next on 57 each.

Henry Clunies-Ross shall run on for his 50th Club game at home this Saturday.

Will Wennerbom only needed 5 points for his 150 points this season and 300 career points. He only got 4 points on the weekend so is now on 149 and 299. No pressure this weekend Will!

Another milestones that could happen against the Wicks this week is Connor O’Shea reaching 100 points for the season, he is just8 points away!

The following players on career point’s milestones, Eddy King (292) and 2 tries away from his 60th club try, Daniel Calavassy (148), Banjo Travers (147), Ben Carolan (145), Josh King (135) and Nathaniel Tamwoy (134).

In Colts, Max Robson reached his century for the season in the past fortnight and now has 132 points after his 7 conversions in 2nds Colts big win for Cato.

It’s a very close race for top try scorer of the year in Colts, with once again Max Robson on 10 followed by five players on 9, Jack Murray, Strath Yeo, Eddie Poolman, Angus Chadwick and Jack Mackenzie-Wood. Angus and Jack scored a double last Saturday.
