Did you know?

The past fortnight I have spoken about the success of our coaching staff James Caterson and Rob Taylor, as well as Ray Hudd who has coached at SUFC for 11 seasons whose current success rate is 82.17%.

In his time at Uni Hudd has coached 230 games, won 183 drew 6 and lost his 41st game last weekend, his first loss this year in 2nd Grade. Ray has made the Semi Finals every year and has won 4 Premierships, Runners up 3 times, Finalist (3rd) twice and 4th in 2009 when 4th Grade bowed out of the Elimination Semi. At the moment Huddy’s 2nd Grade team are outright leaders by 6 points. Keep on keeping on mate.

Bernard Foley became our 48th NSW captain on Friday night and joins Tom English (Rebels) and Sam Carter (Brumbies) as three SUFC players leading the 4 Australian Super 15 sides. Bernie is also set to become the 4th NSW player to reach 900 points in his career. At the moment he is on 899 points of which he has 199 conversions.

A comparison of the past 6 rounds is interesting. In round 7, 8 and 9 the Grade/Colts team played 21 games, winning 14, drawing 3 and 4 losses. Over the past three rounds (10, 11 and 12) we have had 9 wins, 2 draws and 10 losses, mid-season slump perhaps?

Dave McDuling shall play his 50th 1st Grade game this Friday night at home, while Sam Barclay will run on for his 50th Club game.

Joe Schwager wouldn’t know this but his first conversion against Manly was the Club’s 200th conversion this season.

Matt Narracott was back on the wing in 4ths after a couple of weeks at fullback where he crossed for two tries to bring his career tries to 54.

Eddy King also reached 300 career points with his 60th try in 1st Grade.

Will Wennerbom reached 150 points for this season and 300th career point with his lone goal in 3rd Grade.

James Kane needed 8 points in order to reach his 750th career point however could only manage 5. Good news is he kicked his 50th conversion this season.

Colts, Angus Allen went in for 4 tries in 2nd Colts big win.

While our 3rd Colts scored 12 tries in their 74-7 victory.
