Did you know:

If you have ever had a hand at coaching, you may be happy with a handful of losses in a season and accept that as a fairly satisfactory year. Enter, Robert Taylor 1st XV Head Coach.

For the new players, parents and supporters at our club this winter, a little bit of history on RT.

Rob coached our 1st Colts XV in 2016 and 2017, both teams won the Premiership undefeated, that’s 44 wins in a row. In 2018 he was promoted to 1st Grade Head Coach to which he won 16 games and lost just 4, again winning the Minor Premiership and the Shute Shield Premiership against a fancy Warringah side, 45-12. In 2019 he again beat Warringah 21-16, to win his fourth consecutive title in 4 years. This was after being down 0-16, 14 minutes into the 2nd half.

Last year, Rob went to England to join Leicester Tigers as their Attack Coach.

Since his return to SUFC for season 2021, Rob has had 4 wins from 4 matches and at the moment has a winning percentage of 89.53%.

Last Saturday was his 86th game as a Coach with us, of which he was won 77. Out of 40 home games, he has won 36 of those. His last loss at home was Round 12, 29.6.2019 against Warringah, 21-22.

Last Saturday was our 950th win since 1900, from 1604 games played.

Our 4th Grade players like to stick together on the field it seems as from the 3 games they have played, the same 4 players have scored . We have Campbell Jackson with 6 goals, Lochy Miller with 4 tries and 3 tries each to Tom Woodcock and Jack Hamilton, while theother eleven players add the hand shakes and bum taps.

Jacob Ratcliff scored a hattrick in Colts 84-12 win over Penrith. While George Clark is equal with Hamish Cressey on 7 tries with Charlie Murray second on 6 for the second.

William Chen had a big day in 2nd Colts big 115-0 win with 2 tries and 15 goals, a 40 point haul.
