Fizza's Facts and Stats Round 8, 2019

Did you know:

Of the 86 home games we have played against Wests since 1900 we have won 59, lost just 24 and drawn 3. Since 2004, we have won 15 of the 17 games played at home.

Next week’s opponents, Southern Districts we have won 13 of the last 16 home games.

Will Wennerbom became the first player to reach 100 points this year with 2 tries and 8 goals. He just fell short of his 500 career points. Will is on 103 season points and 498 career points. He is also the Club’s leading try scorer with 9 from 6 games. He also holds the record for quickest century in the lower grades, just 5 games, last Saturday was game 6 this year.

Lots of players scored 2 tries on the weekend, James Armstrong,Jack McCalman, Josh Kemeny, Will Ridley, Vinnie Baranyi, Will Wennerbom, Jock Capel and Dan Poletto scored 3 in 3rd grade.

Last weekend Jack McCalman played his 75th club game and scored 2 tries to boot. Jack is now on 38 career tries and two more this week will bring up his 200 career points.

James Kane played his 50th club game in the 1st Grade match.

Who ever scores the first try next week at home verses Souths will pick up the Club’s 150th try this year.

Sometimes there are things you just can’t plan for. You see Declan Moore and Will Ridley started their respective games in 2nd and 3rd Grade to bring up their 49th club games. Both were told to stand by for 1st Grade. They were called on into the main game to both bring up their 50th club game. Saved waiting for next week I suppose!

Declan Moore (Hooker) has scored 8 tries in 8 matches this season, which equals his personal best, two previous occasions, Colts 2015 and Grade 2017.

Two 1st Grade debuts verses Wests with Hayden Pomare and Charlie Hancock becoming our 8th and 9th players to achieve this honour, this season.

Angus Bell (the back) scored a try on his debut in Grade and took the 3 Best & Fairest points in 2nd Grade’s big win.

In Super Rugby Bernard Foley scored 25 of the Waratahs 40 points win against the ‘Reds’, with 1 try, 4 goals and 4 pen.goals.

When Harry Johnson-Holmes came off the bench for the Tah’s, he didn’t know he become SUFC 1900th Super cap for the Club.

In Colts, our 2nds and 3rds never got to have a game due to player shortages from the opposition. But big scores in 1sts Colts with Jack Murray getting 3 tries and Harry Wilson kicking 6 goals which takes him to 66 points for the season.

Trivia Stats: 1st Grade have a liking with the number (29). That has been what they have scored the past 3 games. While 2nd Grade has twice scored (24), 3rd Grade have twice scored (66) and 4th grade twice (19).
