Jakiya Whitfeld scores 10 tries as Sydney Uni wins round three of Aon Uni 7s
Whitfeld scored 10 tries on the weekend to help Sydney Uni to their first Aon Uni 7s win. The victorious Sydney side also included Bathurst's Claire Woolmington.

Whitfeld's brilliant defence, strong fend and explosive speed have seen her score a host of tries for Sydney Uni since the inception of the competition three years ago.

She returned yet another standout weekend at the third round of the 2019 series in Adelaide, scoring 10 tries across seven games as her side went through undefeated.

One of them came as they downed University of Queensland 19-5 in the final.

"We've got some fantastic skill with Jakiya Whitfield, one of our young, up and coming talents, we've got some Wallaroos players, which we're very lucky to have," Sydney Uni captain Olivia White told rugby.com.au

"We went through undefeated which I think speaks to the quality and depth of our team.

"We're a pretty heavy bunch of sevens players, so we thought we'd play to our strengths with physicality and using that weight where it was going to be a benefit, so up the middle and recycling, because we do know that UQ are very talented when it comes to footwork and ball skills.

"So up the middle with strength and safe carries and it paid off."

Fellow Bathurst talent Claire Woolmington was also a member of the victorious Sydney Uni side, scoring three tries for the round.

Two of them came in her side's 36-12 win over University of Western Australia.
