On Thursday morning a group of 45 players and staff left for New Zealand, their first stop Dunedin.

Friday afternoon saw the team face the Highlander Bravehearts, (development team) in an opposed training session.3 x 25 minute games. The first third saw a number of All Blacks on the field including, Aaron Smith, Liam Squire, Ben Smith, Waisake Naholo and Shannon Frizell. The afternoon ended with both the Students and Highlanders claiming 4 tries a piece. 

The boys enjoyed a few days of recovery in Dunedin including a swim at St Clair’s Beach and a gym session at Otago Rugby’s Forsyth Barr Stadium before heading to Queenstown on Sunday afternoon.

Their next match is on Friday at 5pm (local time) against the Crusader Knights, which again is expected to include some international players. Watch this space!
