SUFC are delighted to welcome on board Southern Highlands Brewing as our newest Premium Sponsor.
The partnership has come about after a long historic association with the Club. Southern Highlands Brewing owner, Ben Twomey’s association with Sydney University began in 1990 as a member of the SUFC 1st Colts team whereby he was awarded the Dr Eric Pearson trophy for “Best Fresher”. After 2 seasons of Colts, Ben played 118 grade games (several in 1st Grade) at the Club, finishing in 1999.
Ben co-founded Southern Highlands Brewing in 2016 after a chance meeting on the rugby field with Cameron James at the Bowral Blacks Rugby Club. Ben identified the gap in the local market and the high valued brewing capability of Cameron James, Head Brewer.
The Brewery now has state-wide distribution in NSW and a successful spiritual home, The Taphouse, in Moss Vale. The Brewery has won multiple International and Australian beer awards and competitions. The Brewery is also a majority owner in a joint venture company, Stripped Bare, an Alcoholic Seltzer. The key focus of the growth for the Brewery is in Sydney and the alignment with SUFC provides an ideal strategic fit.
Subsequent to his playing career Ben was a benefactor to the SUFC Foundation and a current Annual Member of the Club. Ben has a long and loyal following of SUFC and is delighted to offer this sponsorship deal to continue the support for the SUFC.

Naked Harvest (Australian Blonde Ale) – Our easy drinking, refreshing blonde ale. Made with a good whack of wheat and noble hops, it’s our most popular session beer.
Bong Bong Picnic Ale (America Pale Ale) – Brewed specifically for the locally renowned annual Bong Bong Picnic Races in Kangaloon, and to honour the event’s efforts to maintain civility by insisting on mid-strength beer. SHBC decided that “if it has to be mid-strength, let’s make it a good one…one with flavour.” A generous amount of Vienna malt and restraint with late kettle hops make this one a winner. Get on! Back it in!
Stripped Bare (Hard Seltzer) – The latest craze in alcoholic beverages, seltzers are alcoholic sparkling water with natural flavours, SHB have created three delicious flavours – lime, grapefruit and summerberry. They are Sugar and Gluten Free with low Calories, its alcohol “Stripped Bare”. Its PURE, BUT NOT!
