On Tuesday 28th February 2017, Sydney University Rugby Club will take on Argentina’s Hindu Rugby Club as part of the Argentinians much anticipated Australia and New Zealand Summer tour.

With various national and provincial titles to the ‘Hindu Club’ name, the Argentinians will provide some exciting competition for Sydney University Rugby as they begin their 2017 pre-season, who also challenge the Victorian U20’s in Wagga Wagga in February.

Founded in 1919 and located in Argentina’s capital and largest city Buenos Aires, ‘Hindu Club’ has been the most dominant rugby union club in South America over the last 20 years. It is both a famous rugby club and a powerhouse, having won the Buenos Aires Championships in 1996, 1998, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2012, 2014 and 2015, and the National Club Championship seven times since 1996, including 2016, making it the club to have won the most National Championships in Argentina.

The day will include 1 Colts and 2 Grade games, with matches being held at The University of Sydney’s No. 2 Oval opposite the TAG Foundation Grandstand.
