Sydney University’s seven teams in Sydney’s premier rugby union competition are all on track for grand final berths after contesting qualifying finals on Saturday.

Sydney University Football Club’s First Grade earned a major semi-final berth against Manly in the Shute Shield after accounting for Eastern Suburbs 21-13 in their qualifying final at Sydney University Football Ground.

The Students crossed for three tries courtesy of representative halfback Jack Gordon, who bagged a pair, and lock Lachlan Swinton, with winger James Kane landing three conversions.

Prop Cody Walker and centre James Field scored Easts’ two tries, with five-eighth Mack Mason landing one conversion.

Sydney University will host the major semi-finals having finished minor premiers and won their preliminary final. A win over Manly on Saturday will earn them a grand final berth, to be held at North Sydney Oval next weekend.

SUFC’s Second Grade ran in eight tries in their 58-30 win over Northern Suburbs. They’ll meet Eastern Suburbs in the major semi-final of the Colin Caird Shield.

SUFC’s Third Grade earned a minor semi-final berth against Northern Suburbs after accounting for Manly 29-7 in their qualifying final, while Fourth Grade will meet Warringah in a major semi-final despite their 15-11 loss to Northern Suburbs in their qualifying final.

SUFC’s three Colts teams also advanced to semi-final berths, with First Grade defeating Southern Districts 34-14, Second Grade defeating Eastern Suburbs 39-19 and Third Grade defeating Randwick 27-25 in their qualifying finals at Coogee Oval on Saturday.

The Students will host three of four grade finals this weekend at Sydney University Football Ground with tickets available HERE. Timings as follows;
