SUFC are pleased to announce the return of Tristan Sharp to the SUFC coaching team.

Tristan was with the Students between 2010-2014 as the Colts Strength and Conditioning Coach, where he enjoyed a host of success included the Colts 3 from 3 year in 2011 and four consecutive 1st Colts Premierships.  

He has spent the past 7 years coaching professionally in the Northern Hemisphere with Connacht (Ireland), Stade Français and Brive (France). Connacht were the Pro 12 Winners in 2015 and Brive won the Pro D2 competition in 2019.

Tristan returns to Australia and the Students as Head of Strength and Conditioning, taking over from Sam Pervan. ‘Turtle’ as he is affectionately known will lead the S&C program for the whole club. He is renowned for the investment he puts into his players, his preparation and organisation for every single session and ensuring players are physically prepared to perform at their peak throughout a long season.

Director of Rugby, Nick Ryan was pleased to see Tristan return to the Blue and Gold.

“As a club we pride ourselves on our physical preparation to gives ourselves the best chance of on field success. Tristan’s experience and expertise during his time overseas will complement the coaching program delivered by Sean Hedger and ensure we are delivering an outstanding program, on and off the field in 2022.”

With lockdown restrictions easing across NSW this week, Turtle will get to work straight away with a gruelling pre-Christmas training block starting on start November 8.
