It is with deep sadness we inform you of the passing of Gil Viciulis. Gil passed away on Sunday 1st October at Calvary Hospital after battling illness for some time.
Gil was SUFC’s 1st Grade manager for ten seasons between 1996 and 2005 working with coaches; Bill Eddy, Peter Maddox, Anthony Eddy, Ross Reynolds, Bob Egerton, Greg Marr, Jake Howard, Bill Millars and Steve Surridge.
During his time at the Club, Gil witnessed 9 Students become Wallabies. They were Richard Harry, Jim Williams, David Lyons, Phil Waugh, Brendan Cannon, the late Dan Vickerman, Al Campbell, Al Kannar and David Fitter.
Gil was awarded a Sydney University Gold blazer in 2001 for his services to the Club and game.
Gil requested a small funeral, however if you would like to pay your respects, Gil’s daughter, Katherine and son, Matthew have organised a memorial service at Oatley RSL on Saturday 4th November, 12pm.
