Our Women’s team have spent the past two Saturdays competing in 7s tournaments. Two weeks ago the team finished in joint third at the Mike ‘Whale’ Curry Memorial 7s, while last weekend they produced strong wins over Manly, Norths and Nelson Bay to find themselves in the Grand Final against the First Nations. At half time the Students were down 12-nil, but a second half comeback saw the game end in a 12-12 draw. As the First Nations scored first they were crowned winners of the Lake Macquarie 7s. 

The tournaments have been a great learning curve for our women and set us up nicely for the Shute Shield 7s tournament which starts in early April. Congratulations to Ashlee Knight, Jacinta Dockrill and Bree Hoy who all made their debut for SUFC.
